-- BSE Training Institute Ltd. (BTI) in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University, IGNOU, the people's university, today inaugurated the first batch of its MBA - Financial Markets Program, full time MBA specializing in 'Financial Markets'.
"With emerging markets like India accounting for a significant portion of the global financial growth, there is a need for developing professionals with specialized qualifications to handle this growth. Today we have inaugurated our MBA - Financial Markets program to fulfill this need," said Mr. Ambarish Datta, Managing Director of the BSE Training Institute Ltd.
BTIL backed by Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd., Asia's first exchange, is the only educational institute in the country offering a specialized course specifically designed for the study of Financial Markets. The course will be held at BTIL's premises in BSE. The event was attended by students enrolled for the MBA program, parents and dignitaries from the financial fraternity.
Mr. M. Damodaran, former Chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India, SEBI, graced the occasion and also accepted chair professorship at the Indira Gandhi National Open University, IGNOU, set-up by the, Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd. and The Stock Exchange Investors Protection Fund. This chair has been established to propagate learning and research in the domain of financial markets.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Damodaran said, "The establishment of this chair will allow us to continuously analyze developments, and build a better understanding of this dynamic environment of the global financial markets."
